This is where my family lived when I was Saved~
This house is where we lived when I realized that I am a sinner and that I need Gods forgiveness! Of course it did not look like this then. A young Evangelist whose name was Daryle Friend had come to our church to hold a Revival. I could feel the Holy Spirit pulling me down that isle toward the old fashion Alter. There I poured out my heart to God to forgive me and ask Jesus to come into my heart and life and to save my soul, forgive me from all of my sins, to guide and direct me in the paths of righteousness for evermore. I really did not quite know just what was happening to me. It was the most wonderful experience that I had ever had in my young life. I knew the scripture in the Holy Bible that reads like this, "For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God!" Romans 3:23 K.J.V. The very first Bible verse that I remember learning as a child was John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Mark 16:16 - He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that
believeth not shall be damned. K.J.V.
I was baptized in the ice cold creek that was near where we lived in the hills of Ozark County. MO. I just knew that I would see the Holy Spirit descending upon me like He did when John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the river of Jordan!

According to the bible, Christians go immediately to be with Christ in Heaven--
2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Christians' spirits don't die--

John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Those who trust in Christ have everlasting life--

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
No-one is married in Heaven--

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
We can have treasure in Heaven--

Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, ... thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
Jesus has prepared mansions for his followers in Heaven--

John 14:2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Once we die, without the everlasting life of Christ, we face judgement--

Hebrews 9:27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Those who don't trust in Christ are condemned--

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
God casts those who are condemned into hell--

Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Hell is a place of torment and flame--

Luke 16:23-24 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, ...for I am tormented in this flame.
Hell is a place of physical agony, and unquenchable fire, to be avoided at all cost--

Mark 9: 43And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 44Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
The wicked go to hell--

17The wicked shall be turned into hell,
Hell is described in Job 18 as a place of brimstone--

15 It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation... 21Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
God doesn't want you to go there! Repent and trust in Christ!

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

We have attended a little Southern Baptist Church since the beginning of the year 2000. My husband had never been baptized when he accepted Jesus as His Savior at the age of 10 years old. I wanted to be a member of the church where I already felt that I belonged. One of the requirements is to be baptized. We both wanted to be baptized so, on December 5, 2011 we were both baptized in to the church as members. My husband said to me, now I feel like I am complete! Praise God for his saving grace and abiding LOVE!

Simon Peter versus Simon the Sorcerer or St. Peter Meets the Competition!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a great expose by the late Dr. E.L. Martin. It documents the true history of the Samaritans, the meaning of the word "peter" in the ancient world and the "church" that was established at Rome by Simon the Sorcerer.

"But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the LORD for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me." (Acts 8:9-24).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right from the very beginning, Satan had his counterfeit "messiah" operating right in the true Messiah's backyard. His name was Simon Magus or Simon the Sorcerer and this man, and not Simon Peter the Apostle, went on to found the Universal Roman "church." His career was the history of Roman Catholicism in miniature. For a long time he bewitched the people with his false miracles. Since the year 800 A.D., Rome has bewitched the world with her false miracles of transubstantiation.

Calhoun Baptist Church

Rev. Jordan Hodges- Pastor

On Sunday January 8, 2012 we were blessed to have the opportunity to be in Gods house as He continues to bring us Spring like weather! Pastor Jordan brought his sermon to us from the book of Luke Ch.11, v17 through 19 niv. Also from the book of Hebrews Ch.10:22, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Romans 3:23niv For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Pastor Jordan tells us we can be not only believers, but knowers of the Word. We must not be only knowers, but doers of the Word. If you are a believer, knower and doer of Jesus Christ he invited you to take part in “The Lords Supper” as an open Communion for all believers. “1 Corinthians 11:24 niv, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me."

Rev. Jordan Hodges~Pastor`

Pastor Jordan brought his sermon from the book of Ecclesiastes Chapter 3, beginning with verse 1.
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

To start off we want to tell you that "GOOD THINGS" are happening at Calhoun Baptist Church!
Good things and bad things are going to happen to each of us this year. They are only temporary, that is a fact we can depend upon. Jesus will make everything right someday. We can have Joy in knowing this, as Christians we can be prepared for anything that happens in the New Year. He has a lot planned for us and in knowing Him we can be prepared to respond to the good and the bad
things that happen in our lives.

2011 was a great year in the Lord, with so many awesome things taking place. We worship God with Fellowship Dinners for just about all of the Christian Holidays. We had a Valentines Day Banquet in February! Valentines Day is about love and God is Love! There was an Easter carry-in dinner and an Egg Hunt for the little ones. It is a guess which have the most fun, the children or the adults!
We have Vacation Bible School every Summer with about hundred in attendance at different times. That is including the children, teachers and helpers. We finish the week with a commencement and party for the children and parents. We have a Bar-B-Q at the Windsor Park in September. We always have a Ministry at the Calhoun Colt Show. The past two years we have had a stand where we have passed out water for Jesus. This years Colt Show the church was blessed to have a Christian Concert after the Community Wide Church Services and Dinner, in which we participate in each year. There is always Trick or Treat Candy for the little ones at Halloween time and of course we are always thankful in November with a Thanksgiving Dinner. We celebrate in December to honor the Reason we get together the other times during the year and that is to worship Jesus.

9:30 Sunday Morning Fellowship,
10:00 Sunday School, 11:00 Worship Services,
6:00 Sunday Evening Bible Study and Children’s Choir
Wednesdays at 7:00 o'clock we have the Youth Group, RA’s and GA’s

Ecclesiastes 3

New International Version (NIV)

Ecclesiastes 3
A Time for Everything
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

9 What do workers gain from their toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.

15 Whatever is has already been,
and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account.[b]

16 And I saw something else under the sun:

In the place of judgment—wickedness was there,
in the place of justice—wickedness was there.

17 I said to myself,

“God will bring into judgment
both the righteous and the wicked,
for there will be a time for every activity,
a time to judge every deed.”

18 I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. 19 Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath[c]; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”

22 So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?
