Calhoun Baptist Church News September 2, 2012~

Posted on by claudean
We have come into the House of God to worship You our Lord. We come with thanksgiving for the rain You have caused to fall upon us here in Calhoun and through out Henry County. Our thoughts and prayers are for the many folks who have suffered in the stormy winds of the Hurricane that someone named Isaac. We know that God even controls the winds. Although we praise him for the rain!
We are the Body of Christ and we should look forward to going to His place of worship!
The sermon brought to us today by our guest minister Brother Charles Brant was, “Is This Just Another Sunday?” He chose his sermon from the beautiful Book of Psalm.
Psalm 100:1-4 (KJV)
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Psalm 118:24
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 122:1
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Calhoun Baptist Church News Aug. 5, 2012~

Brother Terry Barrow welcomed the Congregation this morning and reported about events to look forward to and experience Gods love with fellow Christians. We continue to seek God’s guidance in spreading the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our area and throughout the world. Our church family is working toward having another successful Ministry this year at the Calhoun Colt Show. More about this event will be reported latter. In the meantime bring water to share with others as we express Gods love for each one of us through His son Jesus!
Our Contemporary Praise Song for the day was “At the Foot of the Cross.”
Our Guest Minister was Brother Nathan Sinclair. The Key Scripture for his sermon was from the book of Romans Ch. 5, verses 1-5.
Paul tells us here that we are justified by our faith and we have peace through our Lord Jesus Christ. And we can boast in the hope of the glory of God. We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us as His children.
