Calhoun Baptist Church
Brother Jordan Hodges- Pastor
Sunday was a very special day to be in the house of the Lord. What an honor it is to worship a Living Savior!
The Jeff and Heather Hollinger Family lighted the Advent Candles and read the scripture from the Bible to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Brother Jeff offered a prayer of thanksgiving for the awesome Savior that come down to earth to be our sacrifical Lamb! On this day the white candle, the center one that represents Christ was also lit along with the other four candles as we honor His birth on this Sabbath day, December 25th. 2011. We began each week during the Advent Season by reading a scripture from the Bible and with prayer. Advent Season began the last Sunday in November and ended the last Sunday before Christmas. Our Pastor Jordan and his wife Mallory lighted all of them the last Sunday of Advent, which was last week. Lighting these candles each week helps us to focus on the birth of Jesus and reminds us that He is the true meaning of Christmas. We should work hard all year to keep the Spirit of giving in our lives that is flowing from us so freely at this time of the year.
The first coming of our Lord was as a little Babe in a manger or feeding trough. His next appearing will be as a Mighty Warrior! Shout it from your roof tops that the King Reigns!
When you pray, please remember those that are on our PRAYER CONCERNS, they are as follows~
