Calhoun Baptist Church News October 28, 2012~

The Congregation was greeted by Brother Terry Barrow with the announcements. This last week of October is a good time to tell your Pastor just how much they are appreciated for “Pastor Appreciation Month.”
Our Contemporary Praise Song on the big screen was called “If We are the Body” by The Casting Crowns”!
Sister Lori Remi has been the Worship Leader the past to Sundays with the Hymns of Praise!

Our Children’s Church was held again today for our children by Sister Shonda Self who has been doing this very important Ministry for our little Ones along with Sister Mary Barrow. The children made Cards of Appreciation to give to our Minister of the day, Brother David! There are not many to help do this each Sunday. So, if you are interested in helping in this Ministry contact Sister Margaret Fields or Brother Terry Barrow.

We continue to pray for the Minister who God has planned for us here at Calhoun Baptist Church.
This week we were honored to have Brother David Van Bebber bring the message for us again!
“The Harvest is Ripe.” The workers are so few!
Brother David told us to not miss the chance to be one of the Laborers and then pray for more Workers. In Matthew Ch.9:37 & 38 niv.  Then Jesus speaks to his disciples,,, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
THIS IS A SPECIAL INVITATION TO ALL WHO WANT TO COME AND HEAR A NEW Preacher preach Gods Word!.
We are trusting God. Our Heavenly Father knows who He wants here with us.

The Pastor Search Chair-Woman announced the first announcement for Brother David Van Bebber’s Call to come be our Pastor.
To all of the Members of Calhoun Baptist Church you matter, so you may want to come and hear Brother David speak and maybe get acquainted with this very nice young man! It is very important to have a say in who becomes our Pastor.

After the Sermon this morning we had a Baptism for a young man who has professed his belief that Jesus is the Son of God and he wants to live his life for Jesus as his Savior!

 Taco Bake
To make this, you'll need:
2 crescent roll tubes
1 LB ground beef (or ground turkey)
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Lay out the two tubes of crescent pastry, thick sides in. Use some of the left over crescent rolls to to make the center a bit thicker.
Brown beef and add taco seasoning.
Lay beef in a circle inside of the laid out crescent rolls
Add cheese to the top
Pull over crescent rolls and tuck in under meat and cheese.
Add cheese, lettuce, tomato, black olives, sour cream or whatever you desire for your tacos, in the middle.

Follow cook time on the pack of crescent rolls, and once it's done, you're good to go. Easy, cheap, and yummy!

I have a very deep Faith in God who is my Heavenly Father!

I have been saved by the shed blood of his Son Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvery. I beleave in a Risen Saviour who now sits on the right hand of God. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit co-equal. Jesus will return to claim His chosen people, the called according to His Will. Jesus has said in His Holy Word the Bible that no one comes to the Father but by me.

Our Anniversary is March 28th. 1965. I have been married to a wonderful man for all these years! He loves God and His ways. We have always seeked Gods will in our lives. I am a mother of two fine sons, a mother-in-law to two special girls and I have one very handsome grandson who is twenty one. I am a retired activities director at a long term care facility. I volunteer at our local food pantry, it is called The Samaritan Center.. I feel so blessed to have been able to help there since I have retired. My hobbies are flower arranging in baskets and other containers, also wall decorations. I have had the honor of designing and creating the flowers for several weddings. My husband and I enjoy fishing at the lake near by us. We both enjoy flea marketing and reminscenscing about the good old days gone by.

Our lives evolve around our children, family and friends and our church family. I also have the privilege of singing in the choir at our church. A little Southern Baptist Church that is over one hundred years old.

I especially like to spend all the time I can on my computer. I have made so many friends online the past ten years. The computer is such a good learning experence for me with always something new to do, such as blogging and my groups.

I have loved Jesus as my Savior since I was eleven years old. I depend on Him to direct my life as I could do nothing without Him.
