NO SHAME! ONLY POWER~ by Val Newton-Knowles.

Tired of struggling as a Christian? Feeling defeated and wondering if you will ever get it right? Be encouraged today and know that the walk of success has already been laid out for you.
Jehovah God never intended for us to walk this journey alone. Never! That’s why He sent us the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, to give us strength and inner guidance. Now it’s our responsibility to be accountable and do our part to experience it.
In No Shame Only Power, author Valderine Newton-Knowles offers practical steps to help you walk in the power of God, showing that from the beginning, you were born to win. The Apostle Paul spoke often of the power of God, and he spoke because of his personal experiences. Now it’s time to take your personal experiences and begin a daily diet on the word of God. It is the only thing that has the power to strengthen your spirit and accomplish that which seems impossible.

Val Newton Knowles is from the beautiful island of Nassau, in the Bahamas. She is a minister of the gospel with a strong passion for people. She firmly believes that the Word of God is the empowerment of God for mankind. She sees herself as His servant pleasing Him first and loving her fellowman.
No Shame Only Power, is Val’s first book, and is scheduled for release on April 9th, 2013 through Tate Publishers.

Here are my thoughts about the book.
I like the way the author has set this book up for teaching anyone who wants to become a Christ follower. The book is written for all of us, even the Christian whom is not a babe in Christ. It would be a very good book to use in a Bible Study Group.
The next paragraph was chosen from the book, showing us how the Word of God, the Bible, is God inspired. In fact the Holy Ghost, {some folks refer to the Comforter as the Holy Spirit}, inspired the writers of each book in the Bible. . . . . . .

The Word of God is the source of truth. The author
of the written Word is the Holy Ghost. He teaches, He
leads, He guides, and He instructs us. A good way of
looking at where we fit is like this:
• God informs
• I must conform to be transformed
• I must conform to God’s information to be
transformed into His character ~
I must hear the Word of God and apply the Word
of God by doing what the Word says.

I would highly recommend this book! I intend to read it again and again!

Destined to Live, Despite Me Series~ "A Cause to Be Thankful"

"A Cause to Be Thankful" byYolanda Shanks~ Have you ever considered how often we neglect expressing genuine gratitude? The Bible gives an account of how Jesus healed ten lepers. But only one returned to express thanks. Using the Biblical story of the ten lepers as a reference, A Cause to Be Thankful by Yolanda Shanks will unpack the Biblical model for thankfulness, showing how a spirit of entitlement has overshadowed our spirit of thanks. In this straightforward and challenging book, you will not only learn how to return as the one leper who expressed gratitude, but you’ll come away with a clear plan for including consistent and genuine thanks in your prayer life and day-to-day encounters. Author Bio: Multi-published author, speaker, blogger, teacher, wife, grandmother—Yolanda Shanks wears many hats, but the one she most resonates with is her role as an advocate for living life to its fullest. Shanks’ award-winning first book, Destined to Live, Despite Me, continues to be a source of hope for those battling effects from a prior suicide attempt. It garnered an enthusiastic Kirkus review, which stated the book was “a commendable guide for finding meaning after considering suicide.” Her second book, Not Just a Hearer but a Doer (released June 2012) challenges the body of Christ to act upon scripture. Destined to Live, Despite Me – A Cause to Be Thankful is Yolanda’s third book.

My thoughts as a Book Reviewer for Christian Women Affiliate:

My first thoughts when I started reading this little book written by Yolanda Shanks, I thought what a wonderful book to use for a Bible, "Book Study. I have not gotten to read the other book she has in this series called "Destined to Live, Despite Me Series. It is called "Not Just a Hearer, But a Doer."
The Bible gives an account of ten lepers that Jesus healed. But only one of them returned to thank Him. The writer has put together in each chapter in the book a scripture from the Bible to read and study and at the end of each chapter she offers a prayer for us to pray concerning what the scripture is all about.
Jesus is a reason for us to have a thankful heart! As I read the book I would put a post-a-note in different places so that I would know that I wanted to mention something about that chapter or page. Is Thankfulness a Foreign Concept? I do not thank so! One of the first words a child should be taught is "Thank You."
Read about this on page eighteen. As you study this book you will find how it touches your heart with the wonderful scriptures from the Bible. She offers the plan of Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. The Savior who saved her from killing herself and showed her the plans that He has for her to spread his Gospel by her writing skills Thank you Miss Yolanda! Keep up the good work!!
"A Cause to Be Thankful "is her third book in the series of "Destined to Live in Spite of Me.
