Today Is Special:
News reports announced that Noah's Ark had been discovered by a
Chinese man from Hong Kong and a Turkish Christian team. They
seem to have pretty good evidence and pictures that the actual
Ark has been found. The news of the discovery was released to
the public on Tuesday, April 27th. We left for China to stay on
The ARK on Tuesday, April 27th.
http://www.mountainwings.com/past/10119.htm

Did I have advance knowledge that news of the discovery of The
ARK would be released that very day? Not from any human source.
I didn't hear about the discovery until I was actually aboard
The ARK in China.

According to Genesis chapter 7 verses 11-16, today is special.

11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second
month, on the seventeenth day of the month - on that day all the
fountains of the great deep burst open and the floodgates of the
heavens were opened.

12 And the rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.

13 On that very day Noah entered the ark, accompanied by his
sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, along with his wife and his sons'
three wives.

14 They entered, along with every living creature after its
kind, every animal after its kind, every creeping thing that
creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its
kind, everything with wings.

15 Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life came
into the ark to Noah.

16 Those that entered were male and female, just as God
commanded him. Then the LORD shut him in.

The second month of the Hebrew or Biblical calendar is the
month of Iyar. The 17th day of Iyar begins today, Friday, April
30, 2010 at sunset and ends on Saturday May 1, 2010 at sunset.
It is no coincidence that on the day the rains began and Noah
went into The ARK, for this year, the year in which The ARK was
found, that day falls on God's Holy Day. His Holy Day of Rest,
The Sabbath.

Even though Hong Kong has much to see and do, on this day I will
stay shut-in on The ARK and rest. Rest was God's first law.

This is MountainWings issue number 120 for this year.
It is the 120th day of the year.
It took Noah 120 years to build The ARK.
Look at the address at the bottom of this email.

The unusual thing about The ARK here in Hong Kong is that most
of the people have never heard of it. It looms huge next to a
major highway bridge that passes over The ARK as it sits on the
edge of the water. There is a large billboard sized sign outside
of the busy Park Island Ferry station picturing The ARK. The
vast majority of Chinese who we mention The ARK to have never
heard of it though it looms literally under their noses.

Some things hide in plain sight.

Don't Miss The Boat

Don't Miss The Boat
====================
~A MountainWings Original by Nathaniel Bronner Jr.,
Pastor, The ARK of Salvation, Atlanta, GA USA~

I'm in Hong Kong now.

I'm at Noah's Ark.

Each year, my brothers and I take a trip. There are five
brothers and we rotate who picks what we do and where we go
each year. This year is my year and I wanted to go to Hong Kong.

It's nearly a 20 hour flight from Atlanta but wherever we pick,
the other brothers have to go without complaint. That's our
deal and it's worked great so far.

I wanted to come to Hong Kong because Hong Kong has the only
full-sized Ark in the world. There is one in the Netherlands
but it's only a fraction of the size of the one in Hong Kong.

There is actually a hotel in The ARK and that's where we are
staying. We are here now because I wanted to be in The ARK on
the Biblical day that Noah actually entered The ARK.

Hong Kong is 12 hours time difference from Eastern Time. When
it's 10AM in Atlanta, it's 10PM in Hong Kong. We got here
tonight after midnight. It was an awe inspiring sight to see
this HUGE Ark looming on the horizon as we drove up.

I can imagine it would be even more awe inspiring if you were
standing outside and you'd been listening to who you thought
was a crazy man talking about rain, floods and salvation in The
ARK. Then it started to rain after never having rained before
in history. Yep, that would be pretty awe inspiring and scary
at the same time because as the drops pelted your face with
ever increasing intensity, perhaps you'd begin to realize that
you'd missed the boat and Noah wasn't so crazy.

An annual trip is a good idea too, no matter where you go.
You will be surprised at what it does for family relations and
brother or sister relations.

I'm going to sleep now.

Safely in The ARK.

A Prayer for weight loss, Christian, 1stholistic.com

A Prayer For Weight Loss By Lynn

Father God, I come to you in the precious name of Jesus that you will perform a miraculous healing in my life concerning my desire to lose weight. Thank you Lord that nothing is impossible with you and that you can help take away my desire to overeat and fill the voids within me that cause me to seek food as a substitute.
Lord, touch my mind right now, help me to see what causes me to overeat, give me a strong desire to want to take care of my body and see it as you do Lord. Help me to make the right food choices and touch my mind with creativity concerning food and what I eat. May I be restored to divine health again.

As I strive to do this Lord, please bless all within me - my cells, and my metabolism - that they will function properly so I can lose the weight. And let me take it one day at a time and not worry about anything else but the cares of the day that I woke up to.

Thank you Father for loving me enough to help me through this.

Amen.

Ozark, County Missouri 1944,,, Birth Announcement

Birth Announcement:

From their home in Trail Holler,
Ozark County, Missouri,

Mr. and Mrs. John Rue Lamb and two year old Mary Catherine are pleased to announce the birth of baby girl Claudean and twin brother baby boy, John Harrison. The proud parents are sadened to report the death of their precious baby boy John Harrison. He was allowed to be with his earthly father and mother but only a little while, but will forever be in his Heavenly Fathers arms.

When you are the the survivor of twins, you wonder what it would have been like to have grown up with a brother your age. I realize that we are not to question Gods Will that one should live on earth and the other be with Him forever.

Today is my 66th. birthday and what a wonderful life God has allowed me to have here on this earth.
I have had so much happiness and sad times too, there have been many. The joys out weigh them though. So, if we are not careful we might go through life wondering about the what ifs. God does not intend for us to do that when we promise to follow Him all the days of our lives as I have promised Him. So that I may have the assurance of having a Heavenly home some fine day when My Heavenly Father says, welcome home my daughter. He will say well done my good and faithful servant!
Oh, what a glorious day that will be.

Until He calls me home I plan on enjoying life to the fullest each day. I want to follow His commandment by telling everyone about Gods Son Jesus, that He sent to save a world of lost sinners like me.
Romans 3:23 KJV For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

First He came as a Baby; soon He will return as Divine Royalty!

On a very sad day for the rest of the family, on the 20th. day of Febuary the year was 1957, John Harrison welcomed his own sweet mother, Lula Lamb into heaven, her eternal home.
His earthly farther also joined him in his heavenly home on a cold day in December in 1970.

Do You Love Too Well?

Do You Love Too Well?
The other morning, when I sing-songed, "Time to get dressed," my able-bodied son groaned.

"Mom, can't you help me?"

"Your pants are right there, John."

"Help me put them on."

"You're 10 years old. Ten-year-old boys dress themselves."

I left the room. Within a few minutes, he bounded down the steps and into the kitchen. Pants on. Shirt on. Socks on. And, I presume, boxers on too.
Had I helped him dress, my unspoken message would have shouted, "You incompetent, kid! You can't even do something as simple as pull on pants."
When you comfort a friend -- or she comforts you -- do you cross a boundary and help her do what she can (or vice versa)?
Respect her self-worth and yours: Help her only with what she cannot do. This is an expression of real love.
You see this concept of boundary-setting in the Bible. In Luke 10 Jesus shares the parable of Good Samaritan.
Robbers jump a man (very likely a Jew) on the way from Jerusalem to Jericho, leaving him half-dead at the side of the road. A priest passed by, then a Levite. Finally, a Samaritan, considered scum by Jews, saw him and stopped.

Here's a list of what the Samaritan did:

bandaged his wounds
treated his wounds with the "medicine" of the day
lifted him onto him donkey and brought him to an inn
nursed him for a day
paid for the man's extended stay at the inn
paid the innkeeper to watch over him
promised to pay extra expenses when he returned

Here is the one thing we know he chose not to do: Halt his own travel plans. He didn't think, "Poor guy, I better stay with him or else he may never get better, so I must stop everything for him. . .even if that means neglecting my family and my work."
The Good Samaritan had good boundaries.
Question: Do you agree?

What does the Bible say about karma? What goes around, comes around?

Question: "What does the Bible say about karma?"

Answer: Karma is a theological concept found in the Buddhist and Hindu religions. It is the idea that how you live your life will determine the quality of life you will have after reincarnation. If you are unselfish, kind, and holy during this lifetime, you will be rewarded by being reincarnated (reborn into a new earthly body) into a pleasant life. However, if you live a life of selfishness and evil, you will be reincarnated into a less-than-pleasant lifestyle. In other words, you reap in the next life what you sow in this one. Karma is based on the theological belief in reincarnation. The Bible rejects the idea of reincarnation; therefore, it does not support the idea of karma.

Hebrews 9:27 states, “Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment…” This Bible verse makes clear two important points which, for Christians, negate the possibility of reincarnation and karma. First, it states that we are “destined to die once,” meaning that humans are only born once and only die once. There is no endless cycle of life and death and rebirth, an idea inherent in the reincarnation theory. Second, it states that after death we face judgment, meaning that there is no second chance, like there is in reincarnation and karma, to live a better life. You get one shot at life and living it according to God’s plan, and that is it.

The Bible talks a lot about reaping and sowing. Job 4:8 says, “As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it.” Psalm 126:5 says, “Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.” Luke 12:24 says, “Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!” In each of these instances, as well as all the other references to reaping and sowing, the act of receiving the rewards of your actions takes place in this life, not in some future life. It is a present-day activity, and the references make it clear that the fruit you reap will be commensurate with the actions you have performed. In addition, the sowing you perform in this life will affect your reward or punishment in the afterlife.

This afterlife is not a rebirth or a reincarnation into another body here on earth. It is either eternal suffering in hell (Matthew 25:46) or eternal life in heaven with Jesus, who died so that we might live eternally with Him. This should be the focus of our life on earth. The apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 6:8-9, “The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Finally, we must always remember that it was Jesus whose death on the cross resulted in the reaping of eternal life for us, and that it is faith in Jesus that gives us this eternal life. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” Therefore, we see that the concept of reincarnation and karma is incompatible with what the Bible teaches about life, death, and the sowing and reaping of eternal life.

The Virus

The Virus
==========

Two men were diagnosed with a deadly virus. They were told that
the cure would change their life forever. Their families might
disown them, and friends could turn their backs on them.

One man decided to decline the offer; he didn't want to be left
out of anything. At first everything seemed ok. He drank with
his friends and family and ignored what the doctors said.

Time went past and life took a turn for the worst. The virus
began to consume his life. He had to quit his job and lost his
source of income. The people he called friends didn't help,
they told him it was his problem not theirs. Everyday was a
struggle for life. His days were long and painful. On his
deathbed his last words were, I should've taken the cure.

The other man decided to take the cure.

From then on his life changed. His family betrayed him, and
said it was a waste of money. They didn't talk to him anymore
because they didn't believe in what he was doing. His friends
left because he couldn't do all the stuff he used to do. At
first he cursed the doctors for the way people were treating
him.

After time he began to get better. He was getting promoted
because he was able to focus on his job. His family apologized
for the way they treated him. He got new friends that helped
him daily. Life to him was a gift. He thanked God daily that
he decided to take that cure.

That virus is like our problems.

If we hold on to them and ignore them they will begin to consume
us. They will take over our life and no matter what we do, we
won't be able to get rid of them.

If we give our problems to God he can heal us.
He is the cure for any problem we might have.
Yes we might be treated differently, but in the end we can say
thank you God.

The Consultant~

Consultant
===========

Once upon a time there was a shepherd looking after his sheep
on the side of a deserted road. Suddenly a brand new Porsche
screeches to a halt. The driver, a man dressed in an Armani
suit, Cerutti shoes, Ray-Ban sunglasses, TAG-Heuer wrist-watch,
and a Pierre Cardin tie, gets out and asks the shepherd: "If I
can tell you how many sheep you have, will you give me one of
them?"

The shepherd looks at the young man, and then looks at the
large flock of grazing sheep and replies: "Okay."

The young man parks the car, connects his laptop to the mobile-
fax, enters a NASA weather satellite, uploads the exact
location data using his GPS, opens a database and 60 Excel
tables filled with logarithms and pivot tables, then prints out
a 150-page report on his high-tech mini-printer. He turns to
the shepherd and says, "You have exactly 1,586 sheep here."

The shepherd cheers, "That's correct, you can have your sheep."
The young man makes his pick and puts it in the back of his
Porsche.

The shepherd looks at him and asks: "If I guess your
profession, will you return my animal to me?"

The young man answers, "Yes, why not?"

The shepherd says, "You are a consultant."

"How did you know?" asks the young man.

"Very simple," answers the shepherd. "First, you came here
without being called. Second, you charged me a fee to tell me
something I already knew, and third, you don't understand
anything about my business... Now can I have my dog back?"

Because He Lives We too Shall Live

Because He Lives We too Shall Live

In this restless world of struggle
it is very hard to find
Answers to the questions
that daily come to mind.
We cannot see the future,
what's beyond is still unknown,
For the secret of God's kingdom
still belongs to Him alone.

But He granted us salvation
when His Son was crucified,
For life became immortal
because our Saviour died.
Life is not a transient thing,
It is change but never loss,
For Christ purchased our salvation
When He died upon the Cross.
